The World Football Association (FIFA) has appointed referees for the match between Serbia and Switzerland in the third round of the World Cup in Qatar.

On Friday at 20:00, the Eagles will play a decisive match for a place in the round of 16, and their rival in this match will be an old acquaintance – the Swiss team.

FIFA entrusted the distribution of justice at this match to Argentine referee Fernando Rapallini, who has been refereeing since 2011, while he has been wearing the FIFA badge since 2014.

The Argentinian is also known for the fact that in 2020 he became the first referee from outside Europe to be trusted to officiate matches at the European Championship.

As part of the cooperation between CONMEBOL and UEFA, he was entrusted with the distribution of justice in the match between Ukraine and North Macedonia, and he also refereed the matches between Croatia – Scotland and France – Switzerland.

Rampaljini brought happiness to the Swiss in the duel with the Tricolors in the round of 16 of the EURO, as the “Sajji” celebrated in this match after a better performance of penalties, since after 120 minutes of play there was no winner 3:3.

Rapalligni will be assisted by Juan Pablo Bellata and Diego Bonfega, and the fourth referee will be Canadian Kevin Ortega.

In the VAR room, Argentinean Mauro Villano will be in charge, assisted by Chilean Julio Bascuan, while two Uruguayans, Nicolas Teran and Leodan Gonzalez, will be in charge of offsides in the video room.

At the championship in Qatar, Rampaljina refereed the match between Croatia and Morocco, which ended goalless.
