Transgender singer in Zvezde Granda

Alina, born Alina Juhart (29), came from Maribor to try her luck in “Zvezda Granda”, and she did it with the songs “Pametna i luda” by Marija Šerifović and “Lažu te” by the Amadeus band.

In a knee-length black dress, with high heels and long, blow-dried hair, Alina already received a vote from Aleksandar Milić Mili during the first song, and the support of the other jury members soon arrived.

Although everyone looked confused at the contestant, since their male name was written on the paper, while they saw a woman on the stage, there was no lack of support. This Slovenian received six votes, and only Dragan Stojkoivć, a Bosnian, did not vote for the transgender singer.

After the performance, Sanja Kuzhet said that he sang Alino, but the contestant immediately corrected him.

– She sang – she noted, which confused the presenter, since her name is a man, and the contestant pointed out that although she is a transgender person, she is actually just a woman who wants to live her life and fulfill her dream of singing in “Zvezda Granda”.

– It is a great honor for me to be here. I’m from Slovenia, I’ve been living in Belgrade since February. I came here because I think that Serbia and the entire region must meet a woman like me. I’m just a normal person who wants to love, be loved and be happy like all of us. I want to inspire every person to live their life and their life truth. And I adore all of you, I can’t believe that I’m here – said the contestant, which was greeted with applause by everyone in the studio.

Voja Nedeljković tried to break up the emotional moment by speaking in Slovenian, which made everyone in the studio laugh, especially since Đorđe David followed it up, which no one understood yet.

Saša Popović asked the contestant if he wanted to present himself as Alino or Alina in the continuation of the competition.

– People call me Queen, but when they call me by my name, it’s Alina – said the contestant, which everyone liked.

Nevertheless, Saša revealed to the viewers and the jury that he had a dilemma about Alina, when it comes to her participation.

– When she sent the online application and when I looked, I didn’t know what to do, how to classify her and I don’t think I was wrong. Six votes – that’s incredible, but also deserved – said Popović, while Dragan Stojković, a Bosnian, asked to explain why he didn’t vote.

– You sang correctly and beautifully, but what caused a problem for me, not knowing the first and last name and gender, is a lyrical tenor in a beautiful female body, simply the disproportion of my understanding of music. I just don’t know how I would choose songs for you tomorrow, according to which rule of music so that it would be good, without being ridiculed. And as for your gender orientation, I support you – said the Bosnian.

Since she received six votes, Alina had the opportunity to choose a mentor, and it was Marija Šerifović from the beginning.

But even though his heart chose Mara, as she said, the Eurovision winner rejected her.

– Alina, my voice has much more weight for you tonight than as a voice how beautifully you sang. This is a vote for a brave and determined girl, for a free person who has the right to love the way she wants, because no one can deny you that right. But I’m not a good mentor for you because I can’t handle those petty feelings, I do it nervously, loudly, rudely and I wouldn’t be able to handle anyone who reacts gently to it. I am everything that you are not. Welcome, Alina The Queen – said Maria, and after that she was given the opportunity to choose another mentor.

Alina chose Ceca, which Maria liked very much.

– Since he doesn’t know how to nurture those feelings in mentoring, I know how to nurture them in mentoring and in my private life. I’ll take you – said Ceca, and Saša joked and said to take her too.

– Why didn’t you offer yourself before you got rich before marriage? Now you are bothering me when I have no use for you. Known to say “no” absolutely and very aggressively – Ceca joked and welcomed Alina to her team.
