The goalkeeper of the Canadian national team and the Belgrade Crvena zvezda did not feel comfortable in the goal, but not only because of the moody attackers of the Croatian national team, but also because of the attack from the stands by a part of the Croatian fans.

In addition to insulting shouts about his origin, and Milan Borjan’s family fled to Canada from Croatia, fans pointed out slogans with inscriptions such as “Knin 95” and “Storm 95”, clear messages in favor of the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in 1995.

The Croats had ready a whole range of passwords that they used to send messages to a Serb with a Canadian passport. The Croatian portal 24 sata states that Milan Borjan was insulted by Croatian fans literally during the entire match, at the end he greeted them with three fingers raised high while “Vukovar, Vukovar” was chanted from the stands.

For now, it is not known whether Fifa or the Canadian national team will react to these provocations. FIFA is already initiated proceedings against the Serbian national team because of the flag in the dressing roomnot in public, unlike the Croatians who were seen in the stands.

In addition to Milan Borjan, there is also a representative of Australia Miloš Degenek recently reminded the public of his origins, namely that his family was expelled from Croatia during Operation “Storm”.
