The German found a doppelganger and massacred her to fake her death

When the bloodied body of a young woman was found last August in a parked Mercedes in Ingolstadt, southern Germany, the victim was initially identified as Sharaban K, a 23-year-old beautician of Iraqi roots from Munich.

Although some family members of Sharaban K. identified the body, the autopsy report the next day raised questions about the victim’s identity. The unfortunate woman was eventually identified as Kadiža O., an Algerian blogger from the neighboring state of Baden-Württemberg.

With long black straight hair, a similar complexion and wearing make-up, the two women looked “unbelievably similar”, police said, prompting the German press to call the case a “double murder”.

Together with a 23-year-old Albanian from Kosovo and Metohija, named Šaćir K, Sharaban was taken into custody by Bavarian police on August 19, 2022, although authorities did not publicly release details of the case until this week.

– The investigation led us to assume that the accused wanted to hide because of a family dispute and to fake her own death – Veronika Grieser from the state prosecutor’s office in Ingolstadt said today.

Police say Sharaban contacted several women who resembled her in the week before the murder.

– She tried to organize meetings, but without success – said Grizerova.

But Kadiža O. agreed to meet with her, lured by “cosmetic services”, the Guardian reports

Šaćir K. and Šaraban K. allegedly picked her up by car from her apartment on the day of the murder. Then, in a wooded area between Heilbronn and Ingolstadt, they pulled the Algerian woman out of the car under pretexts and stabbed her to death.

– The weapon was not found, but the evidence is incontrovertible – said police spokesman Andreas Eikel for tabloid Bild.

– The victim was stabbed more than 50 times, and his face was completely disfigured.

Prosecutors state that the couple then put the victim in the back seat of the “Mercedes” and drove to Ingolstadt, where they then parked the car in a quiet residential area on the banks of the Danube.

The vehicle was discovered by Sharaban K’s parents shortly before midnight on August 16, 2022.

– You don’t see a case like this every day, especially with such a spectacular twist – Eikel told Bild.

– When we found the body, there was nothing to prepare us for this development.
