Zalmanovic suffered from health problems and needed treatment

Hamas released a video showing 86-year-old Arie Zalmanovich, an Israeli hostage kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, reports “Haaretz”. At the end of the video it looks like the old man is dead.
We will not publish the video because it is too disturbing.
According to “Haaretz”, Zalmanovic suffered from health problems and needed treatment.
Zalmanovich grew up in Haifa and was a member of the left-wing Hashomer Hatzar youth movement. In 1955, he became one of the founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where he worked as a farmer.
His son Boaz, speaking at a protest for the release of the hostages in late October, said his father “for 60 years got up every day at 430 in the morning and went to plow, sow and reap.”
“Even in the driest years, when there was nothing to eat, and even when the rocket warning sirens and mortar shells gave him 10 seconds to reach the safe room, he refused to leave the kibbutz.”
“He is a man with calloused hands and work clothes, and he sees the kibbutz as his life’s mission,” added his son.
Boaz said he last spoke to his father at 9:26 a.m. on October 7.
