In a video broadcast by Al Jazeera television, Abu Ubaida praised Iran’s attack on Israel on April 13, saying direct strikes with explosive drones and rocket missiles “set new rules and confused the enemy,” Reuters reports.
He also called for an escalation of the conflict in the West Bank and in Jordan, which he said was “one of the most important Arab fronts.”
The Jordanian Air Force has intercepted and shot down dozens of Iranian drones that entered Jordanian airspace en route to Israel, two regional security sources confirmed on April 13.
“We call on the Jordanian people to step up their actions and raise their voices,” Abu Ubaida said, noting that Hamas is sticking to its demands in the ceasefire talks: that Israel end its military offensive, withdraw its military forces from the Gaza Strip, allow the return the displaced to the north of the Gaza Strip and to lift the blockade of the Palestinian enclave.
Israel is seeking to root out Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, in a military operation that has so far killed more than 34,000 Palestinians.
