FORMER Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny could take over the post of Ukrainian ambassador to Great Britain in a few weeks, said today the advisor to the Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak.
He told TV channel Kiev24 that an agreement on this has already been reached and that the protocol procedures with the British side have been completed, Unian reports.
– As far as I understand, everything has been officially agreed. He will be the ambassador, consent has been received and all protocol procedures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been completed. I think this is a matter of weeks, in order to agree on some logistical procedures – said Podoljak.
On February 8, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced on March 7 that Zelensky agreed with Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the position of ambassador to Great Britain.
