BRICS GAINS KEY MEMBER? The new country despairs of the “Eastern” alliance of countries

On January 1, Russia became the chairman of BRICS for the following year. Her presidency began with the admission of new members to the organization – in addition to the Russian Federation, Brazil, India, China and the Republic of South Africa, the members of this organization now include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

After the accession of all new members, the population of the BRICS countries increased to 3.6 billion people, which is almost half of the total world population. These countries account for more than 40 percent of world oil production and about a quarter of world exports.
