Consumer Reports took a closer look at the car maintenance costs of American drivers. In the annual survey, he simply asked owners about the costs they incur for maintenance and repairs.

In the beginning, the price was low for most car brands. In this case, new car warranties often cover many repairs, and it also takes several years before new cars need their first major service, Revijahak writes.

The analysis shows that costs skyrocket only after a few years when warranty and free maintenance periods end. But there are also big differences between different brands.

“The difference in car maintenance is expressed in thousands of dollars over a 10-year period. Furthermore, expensive luxury cars are often quite expensive to maintain,” said Stephen Elek, director of data analysis at Consumer Reports.
