Biden to ban, but won’t stop using TikTok

“The fragmented media environment requires us to be present and communicate with voters where they are, and that includes communicating online,” said an unnamed Biden campaign official, according to Reuters.

He pointed out that TikTok is one of the many applications through which the Biden campaign tries to make their messages “visible to as many voters as possible”.

He added that “enhanced security measures” will be applied when using the app.

The decision by the Biden campaign comes at a time when a growing number of young, left-leaning voters, users of the app, are upset about Biden’s policy towards the war in Gaza and are protesting en masse at universities across the country.
