ZELENSKI LOOKING FOR THE THIRD WORLD WAR? The Ukrainian president is trying to drag NATO directly into the war with Russia (VIDEO)

IN AN APPEAL to Western allies, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for a strong stance, similar to that of Israel and the surrounding region.

Zelensky expressed his request during an interview with Fox News, a prominent American media outlet. He believes that Western countries should send their military planes to maintain Ukraine’s air sovereignty.

The Ukrainian president believes that Western aviation should step up its operations in Ukraine, reflecting their level of commitment as in the case of Israel. Simply put, Zelensky wants aircraft from organizations such as the US Air Force and other Western forces to demonstrate their power in strengthening the security of Ukrainian airspace. “Real alliances have been tested on the ground and it’s time for Kyiv and its Western allies to express it,” Zelensky insisted.

The US Air Force maintains a significant presence in the defense of Israeli airspace. The most common deployments involve their naval variant of the F-35 fighter or the equally versatile F/A-18. London, a staunch ally of Washington, also has squadrons in the region. However, the Royal Air Force focuses its operations primarily on protecting commercial routes in the Red Sea and conducting Eurofighter Typhoon strikes against Houthi targets. However, London is not alone in this endeavor – it is getting significant help from American aircraft.

“UNEXPECTED” COMMENTS

Experts have responded to Zelensky’s recent remarks to Fox News, offering their own perspectives. Embedded in military strategy, their perspective suggests that “initiating airstrikes against the Houthis or Iranian proxies is one scenario, but risking conflict with nuclear armed forces is a whole different ball game. Moreover, the Russian military has exceptional capabilities to neutralize Western aircraft.”

Political analysts also expressed their understanding of the prospect of deploying Western aircraft to secure Ukrainian airspace from Russian incursion. They eloquently articulated: “Zelensky either behaves or does not understand the characteristic importance that the West attaches to Ukraine and Israel.” They further clarified: “For Western decision-makers, especially those from America, Israel is of far greater strategic importance than Ukraine.” The two cannot even be compared. Furthermore, there is no risk of encountering a formidable adversary like Russia on the Middle Eastern landscape.”

It is worth noting that Moscow has consistently argued that any Western military equipment introduced into the Ukrainian conflict will be treated as a legitimate target for retaliation by the Russian military. Moscow called this a “red line”. However, there have been several such violations of the “red line” since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, but without the expected response from Russia.

SIX REASONS

The prominent role that Israel plays in the foreign policy of the United States is indisputable for several reasons. First, Israel stands as a key strategic ally in the Middle East, a region of significant geopolitical and economic importance to the US. The US seeks to use Israel’s military strength and intelligence practices to mitigate regional threats, thereby maintaining balance.

Moreover, the democratic ideals that Israel embodies align with the principles of governance in the US, fostering a natural alliance in a region where such political ideologies are less common. Another contributing factor is the historical and moral responsibility the US has for Israel’s security. This responsibility arose after World War II and the Holocaust when the United States played a significant role in the creation of Israel, providing refuge for Jews.

The importance of maintaining Israel’s security also lies in the key role it plays in supporting regional stability. Without a guarantee of Israel’s security, the region could descend into chaos, which would affect global energy markets and threaten the security of other US allies in the region. To strengthen this bond, the US consistently provides significant defense assistance to Israel. Finally, Israel’s security also forms an integral part of the broader US nuclear non-proliferation program.

PROMISED AND AVAILABLE

In light of the US Congress finally approving the long-awaited military aid for the Ukrainian armed forces, Zelensky is giving his speech. Ukrainian skies are expected to soon see the first F-16 fighters. However, the arrival of these fighters depends on the completion of the necessary training and qualifications by local pilots, a process that is currently underway.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian air force consists primarily of Soviet aircraft with four types of fighter aircraft in active service – MiG-29, Su-24, Su-25 and Su-27. All these planes are relics from the Soviet era. They are inadequate to counter the Russian Air Force, which boasts a superior number of technologically advanced aircraft.
