TURTLE ARMOR FOR RUSSIAN TANKS! “Emperor Mangal” a laughingstock but becoming a seriously deadly weapon! (VIDEO)

When the “turtle shell” appeared on the battlefield of Ukraine, everyone watched in amazement.

Pro-Ukrainian sympathizers laughed at footage of Russian tanks moving across the battlefield in tortoise shell.

The Russians call it “Emperor Mangal” and there are versions 0.1 and 0.2

First, one tank that was leading a column of tanks in the direction near Krasnogorvka in order to receive an attack on itself. Another tank in the same direction had a demining device. Tanks are just like tanks

The task of the tank was to clear minefields, protect infantry, disrupt electronic warfare systems and destroy drones.

Some were reminded of German tanks from the First World War. Some on the “Sturmgeschutz” self-propelled gun on the body of the tank. That is, the vision of Erich von Manstein created the “assault cannon” tactic, which found significant application on the battlefield of the Soviet Union. This weapon became the backbone of motorized infantry.

And then the Russians made their IS-2 and 3, and now this trend means that the category of heavy tanks will become relevant again.

However, unlike the Soviet IS-2, 2M and 3, the new tanks that are being converted into heavy ones will no longer have the ability to rotate the turret 360 degrees with such turtle armor and thus become self-propelled guns plus even more difficult to move.

The same situation happened again this time on the battlefield of Ukraine. No standard armor was used this time. The workshops in the rear of the front had their hands full, everything that could be found was used, sheet metal, steel plates that were welded and thus real anti-accumulative armor around the body of the armor.

Otherwise, under such armor there is reactive armor contact 1 or contact 5, and even a relic.

What is interesting is that there is not a single Russian tank on the battlefield of Ukraine that has used an active blind protection system over Arena-E and Afganit.

During this time, half-meter-long steel rods are welded to the body of the tank, and the sheet metal construction is then hung on them. In this type of armor, the tank does not have the ability to turn the turret, except that the whole thing has to turn and thus loses speed and maneuverability.

Tortoiseshell tanks are slowly becoming a reality and more and more tanks are becoming bulky and poorly mobile lethal weapons. After the T-62 and T-72, it was the turn of the T-80 tank, towing vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles.

The novelty is that on the front of the tank, which remained open, there are anti-cumulative steel curtains that cover the entrance and thus prevent the impact of a kamikaze drone from the front or the activation of an anti-tank missile whose cumulative charge explodes.
