ASTANA – Terrorist attacks in Russia and Iran resulted from the United States and other European countries supporting terrorist groups, Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani said today at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Astana.
“Terrorist attacks in Russia and Iran are the result of support for terrorist groups from Western countries, especially the United States of America,” Ashtiani said, according to the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
As stated by the agency, the Iranian Minister of Defense, speaking about the expansion of NATO to the east, pointed out that member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should use the potential of the SCO in order to neutralize common threats, TASS reported.
In the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, not far from Moscow, carried out on March 22, 144 people were killed and 551 were injured.
The biggest terrorist attack on Iranian soil took place on January 3, 2024 in Kerman during the ceremony marking the anniversary of the death of General Qassem Suleimani, commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, when 95 people died, Tanjug reports.
