Princess Haya bint Hussein has avoided public appearances since fleeing Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum and seeking asylum with the queen.
However, it was precisely such a big event as the queen’s funeral that forced her runaway princess Haya to appear at the solemn service.
Accompanied by her brother, Prince Hussein bin Talalom of Jordan, Haya attended the morning service at St George’s Chapel, but not the main event.
Reason? The appearance of her ex-husband, Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum, with whom she is still “at war”.
Since there was a danger that Sheikh Mohammed could get in touch with her, Haya still missed the funeral of the queen who had always been her great protector.
