CHINA’S People’s Liberation Army should focus on preparing for actual war operations, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said.
As reported by China Central Television, a seminar on national defense and military reforms was held in Beijing on Wednesday with the participation of members of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the chairman of the Central Military Council of the People’s Republic of China, gave a series of instructions to the participants of the seminar.
According to the television, Xi Jinping specifically emphasized that the armed forces should “focus on preparing to participate in actual hostilities.”
The Chinese leader stated that he should firmly stick to the path of realizing the goals of the reform outlined earlier.
In 2015, the Chinese authorities announced their intention to significantly reform their armed forces to increase their effectiveness. Chinese President Xi Jinping is trying to create an ultra-modern army that would be able, if necessary, to repel any enemy.
