Taorska vrela at the foot of Povlen is one of the natural attractions of the Valjevo region. Its waterfalls are also known from the front pages of tourist magazines.

And the Black River at the foot of Divčibar, a protected natural jewel on the slopes of Maljen, attracts tourists to rural households.
“There are guests throughout the year, we are satisfied, there are even more mountaineers,” says Milja Obradović, from the village of Podbukovi.
Tucked away on Maljen Mountain are Divcibare, Valjevo’s most famous tourist destination. They are known for their beneficial climate, ever since Prince Miloš Obrenović. They were declared as a climatic tourist place back in 1932.
“Maljen is a mountain rich in biodiversity due to the fact that it is the first mountain above the large and spacious Pannonian plain, it has a diverse climate, diverse in the substrate, therefore the plant world is very interesting with over 1100 plant species in a relatively small area. Where Maljen stands out, it stands out in the wealth of gentian species, i.e. the gentian family, lincura zuta. This is the epicenter of Maljen’s biodiversity,” emphasizes Prof. Dr. Nebojša Menković, pharmacologist.
For less than a century of organized tourism in Divčibare, this mountain center is once again ranked among the most sought-after tourist destinations.
Branka Ilić, from Divčibar points out: “We based all the offers we made on the Divčibar location, i.e. the geographical predispositions of Divčibar, the unique natural features of this region, the authentic gastronomic folklore and the huge cultural and historical heritage of this part of Western Serbia”.
Divcibare has been developing intensively in the past ten years. The most luxurious hotels and apartment complexes were built. The expansion of capacity and content is visible at every step. Divčibare is no longer just a winter mountain center.
