The reconstruction of the House of Culture in Zmajevo will begin this spring. The public procurement for the selection of contractors for the reconstruction of the building from 1955, which was last renovated 30 years ago, and which has not been in use since 2009, was announced today. Works worth about 62 million dinars are financed by the Provincial Government, and in the municipality of Vrbas they expect to start shortly after the end of the public procurement.
The president of the municipality of Vrbas, Predrag Rojević, points out that 2024 is an important year for the development of culture in the municipality of Vrbas.
“It is extremely important that the citizens of Zmajevo get their own temple of culture. A place that will be a gathering center and where they will be able to realize all kinds of cultural programs. I am extremely proud of the fact that this year, finally, after many years, all the centers of culture in the territory of the municipality to be put into operation. The finishing works are underway on the new House of Culture in Ravni Selo. Work on the reconstruction of the House of Culture in Vrbas is ongoing. In the previous three years, homes in Kucura and Bački Dobro polje have been reconstructed, and with regular maintenance, we plan to reconstruct the Cultural Center in Savina Selo as well,” says Rojević.
He points out that in the previous four years, more than 1.1 billion dinars were invested in culture.
“In addition to huge investments in communal infrastructure, in the reconstruction of schools and kindergartens, investments in the development of sports, road infrastructure and healthcare, we are dedicated and committed to investing significant funds in the development of culture. By reconstructing and modernizing centers of culture in all populated areas, we will create conditions for the organization, realization and the exchange of cultural programs and content. Culture centers are a point that unites and gathers people, improving the entire cultural, social and economic environment,” said Rojević.
