Vesić stated on his “Instagram” that the German company “Deutsche Ban” (DBST) tested the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Subotica, which Serbia is building with its Chinese partners.

He emphasized that Serbian railways are a combination of Chinese technology and European standards and that they are all built in accordance with EU directives and the Serbian law on the interoperability of railway traffic.

– The high-speed railway that we are now building from Novi Sad is certified for European Union standards by one of the largest European companies from the Netherlands, and the technical control and acceptance is performed by the reputable German company “Deutsche ban,” said Vesić.

The minister also pointed out that Serbia is currently one of the rare countries in Europe where Chinese, German and Dutch companies can work together, thanks to the policy led by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Belgrade media reported.

Vesić also announced that traffic on the high-speed railway to Subotica will begin at the beginning of December, one year ahead of schedule.

– Serbia will have 183 kilometers of high-speed railways. From Belgrade to Subotica will be reached by fast train in 80 minutes, to Bačka Topola in 64 minutes, and to Vrbas in 53 minutes – said Vesić.

By the way, on Thursday evening at the Bačka Topola railway station, with the installation of the last part of the rails, the main track on the section of the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Budapest was connected.

Special feature

Goran Vesić expressed his belief that when the recent history of Serbia is written and what has been done in one decade is counted, the construction of the high-speed railway will be particularly prominent.

– When the railway to Budapest is completed and work begins on the 230-kilometer long high-speed railway Belgrade – Niš, the project of connecting the railway to Skopje and Thessaloniki will continue. By connecting the railway to Thessaloniki and Athens, we will have a high-speed railway more than 1,500 kilometers long from Budapest to Greece. Serbia will occupy the central place of development in the Western Balkans, said Vesić.
