Another video purportedly showing a black panther being sought in Serbia is circulating on social networks. This time, as users of social networks comment, the animal was spotted in Vrbas, which is located only 12 kilometers from Feketić, where, according to the locals, it was seen yesterday.
The head of the Provincial Inspection, Nemanja Ivanović, spoke to Telegraf.rs after receiving the new video and explained that he was on the field a fish keeper was sent.
The new video (allegedly taken in the vicinity of Vrbas) shows the black animal slowly crossing the embankment, unlike the previous video in which it was running away, which was first published by Telegraf.rs.
As for the new video, until the publication of this text we have not been able to obtain confirmation of its authenticity.
As the author of that video stated yesterday for our portal, the animal stood still, and as soon as he took out his phone, the wild cat ran away.
– I work nearby, I saw him while passing by and thought I had to take a picture of him otherwise no one would believe me – stated the source of Telegraf, Maljik, who provided us with yesterday’s video.
The game wardens immediately went to the field in the vicinity of Feketić after receiving the report, and checked the area yesterday and today, however, as Nemanja Ivanović told us, there were no tangible traces.
– The video is very short and bad, we can’t tell if it’s a panther or some other animal – he said.
Ivanovic added that drones and thermal imaging cameras were not used this time, and the teams combed the field as much as the conditions allowed.
Let us remind you that the black panther was allegedly first seen in the immediate vicinity of Banja Junaković. The plan is, once the panther is located, to put it to sleep and immobilize it in the Palić Zoo.
After the last video of the cat appeared on social networks, the guests of the spa closed themselves in their rooms, and silence reigned in the surroundings.
Petar Rašeta, president of the Nature Center “Mali Petrov Salaš”, which is located only 400 meters from this Banja Januković, testified about this for our portal. As he mentioned before, he has about 500 domestic animals on his property, and when the panther was last seen, he was told that it was heading right towards his property.
– Since my farm is about 400 meters away from Banja, they called me from their reception to warn me, because a guest allegedly filmed a panther walking towards my property. I thanked them for the warning, but my animals were still released. Spa guests have not been able to go out for a walk for 4 days because they are scared. I always had guests before and they came to this forest as well as to my farm. Everything is deserted now. For three days there is peace and quiet, I don’t have any guests. I think they suffered a great fear and are staying in their rooms more and more – explained our interlocutor.
