Incredible accusations were made against Novak Djokovic and the Serbian people in what was supposed to be a sports show.
Former Australian tennis player Renee Stubbs and American journalist Caitlin Thompson talked after the Australian Open.
The podcast began with Thompson stating that there is no champion in the men’s competition, even though Novak Djokovic won the trophy in Melbourne for the tenth time, which also equaled Rafael Nadal’s record of 22 Grand Slam titles.
The Australian continued by stating that Djokovic should be recognized for the achieved results, but she was not satisfied with the way Novak’s fans behaved.

– I was in the stands next to the Serbian fans when he played and it was not fun. I don’t want to begrudge them the love they feel for him, but it was so loud non-stop. They have to understand that there are other people around who just want to enjoy tennis – said Stubbs, adding that she believes Novak will win 27 or 28 Grand Slam titles.
These words encouraged Thompson to say a few things about Novak…
– Serbian culture is such that they believe that under attack, surrounded by enemies… They have a victim mentality. It was an additional motivation for Novak during his career. Especially when Rafa and Roger dominated. But that’s what causes problems – his father posed with fans who support Putin… Many mention the struggles he had in the past years, but he created them because he didn’t follow the rules – said Thompson, adding that she has no qualms about the Serbs committed genocide in Bosnia because she hit several movies.

While Novak Djokovic was fighting for his tenth title at the Australian Open, support came from all over the world, and one video showed that the Serbian tennis player received a special blessing from the Patriarchate of Peć.
– I don’t have much to say about his tennis. I haven’t watched his matches because they are one-sided, the outcome is known. But having done several projects, notably a documentary on the Serbian genocide against the Bosniaks, the idea that the Serbian victim mentality has started to permeate Novak Djokovic’s narrative is something that doesn’t interest me at all as a tennis fan. People can love it, enjoy it, but it’s not for me.
None of them addressed the problems that Djokovic was really facing, as well as the provocations directed at him from the stands.
